God is Holy

God is the holy Creator of all things (Isaiah 6:3: Genesis 1:1). He is eternal and perfectly just (Deuteronomy 32:4). He is the Sovereign over all creation (Psalm 103:19), and the Righteous Judge of the earth (Genesis 18:25).

Man is Sinful

God created us for the purpose of glorifying Himself and having a relationship with Him (Isaiah 43:7). Instead of glorifying God, we sin against God with the very life He has given us. To sin is to break God’s law (Exodus 20:3-17) and to fall short of His perfect holiness (Romans 3:23). Mankind is inherently sinful (Romans 3:10-12 & 5:12). This means that we regularly break God’s law by inherited sin nature.

Christ’s Work Saves

Because God cannot be just and forgive sin without a payment for sin, God lovingly sent His Son to be the only Savior for the world (1 Peter 3:18). He is Jesus Christ, the incarnate God. He lived a sinless life, and because of His sinlessness and Deity, He was the only man capable of paying the debt of sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). Christ paid for sin by dying on the cross in man’s place, and He arose three days later, proving that His payment for sin was sufficient.

You Must Believe on The Lord Jesus

Simply admit you are a sinner, believe that Christ died for your sins and rose again the third day, and ask him to take away your sins and take you to heaven when you die. Christ freely saves and forgives those who realize and admit that they are incapable of satisfying the demands of God’s law. Every person must repent (turn away from sin/self) and trust in Christ alone for salvation (Romans 10:9-10).

Consider Praying This Simple Sinner's Prayer

"Lord I know that I am a sinner, I know that because of my sin I deserve death and can never reach heaven without you. I now turn from self and trust Jesus fully as my only way to heaven and as the only full and eternal payment for my sin debt. Thank you God for saving me, in Jesus' name, amen."

Please note that praying this prayer without believing from the heart does not save you. The Bible tells us clearly that salvation comes from confession with the mouth (praying) and believing (faith) from the heart; the act of praying without faith does nothing for us (Romans 10:9-10).
