The Gospel

God is Holy

God is the holy Creator of all things (Isaiah 6:3: Genesis 1:1). He is eternal and perfectly just (Deuteronomy 32:4). He is the Sovereign over all creation (Psalm 103:19), and the Righteous Judge of the earth (Genesis 18:25).

Man is Sinful

God created us for the purpose of glorifying Himself (Isaiah 43:7). However, insIead of glorifying God, we sin against God with the very life He has given us. To sin is to break God’s law (Exodus 20:3-17) and to fall short of His perfect holiness (Romans 3:23). Mankind is inherently sinful (Romans 3:10-12). This means that we regularly and instinctively break God’s law by nature.

Christ’s Work Saves

Because God cannot be just and forgive sin without a payment for sin, God lovingly sent His Son to be the only Savior for the world (1 Peter 3:18). He is Jesus Christ, the incarnate God. He lived a sinless life, and because of His sinlessness and Deity, He was the only man capable of paying the debt of sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). Christ paid for sin by dying on the cross in man’s place, and He arose three days later, proving that His payment for sin was sufficient.

You Must Repent & Believe

To trust in any work, religious activity, or charitable deed for salvation is to reject the gospel of Christ. All those who do not believe the gospel will face the wrath of God in Hell forever (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). Christ freely saves and forgives only those who realize that they are utterly incapable of satisfying the demands of God’s law, repent (turn away from sin), trust in Christ alone for salvation (Romans 3:26), and recognize Him as Lord (Romans 10:9).

The Evidence of Saving Faith

While we are saved by faith alone and can never be saved by works of any kind, true faith is always accompanied by a willing desire to be holy (I John 2:3), a hunger to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:28-30), and an ongoing pattern of repentance (Matthew 3:8).
